Four on fire in St Catherine cricket tourney
A nine-wicket haul for 40 runs by former Inswood High standout Stephan Casey spurred GC Foster Cricket Club to a convincing eight-wicket win over the JUTC on Sunday last as the second round of the St Catherine Jamaica Energy Partners Cricket Competition came to a close.
For good measure, his nine-wicket haul was almost overshadowed by Mark Granston who followed up his first-round score of 44 to make 97 runs for Angels in their match against Unions Estate Cricket Club.
Of the 12 teams, four are leading the pack in this competition. Newcomers NHT Cricket Club appear to be going after the number one spot with heavy scores in their two matches so far. Sitting at the top with NHT CC are Old Harbour CC, Ewarton Sports Club and Angel’s CC all on 24 points. On 12 points each are Basement CC, Dela Vega City CC, GC Foster, and Lakes Pen. Sitting at the bottom and without a points are Unions CC, Old Harbour Bay CC, JUTC CC and Correctional Services Sports Club.
