ALL three Glenmuir teams and one St Mary High team have advanced to the Rural Finals of the ISSA Table Tennis competition, this resulting from the semi-finals which were staged at the GC Foster College on Thursday.

Glenmuir’s boys Under-19, girls Under-16 and boys Under-16, who had finished second in their preliminary round zone (Central One) to qualify for the semis, topped their respective semi-final categories to advance to the finals.

And St Mary High Under-19 girls, who placed second in the North Eastern zone to qualify for the semi-finals, finished second in the three-team semi-final play-off to also advanced.

These four teams will join the first-place finishers in the preliminary zones in the finals to be played Tuesday at GC Foster College, starting at 9:00 am.

In the three-team boys Under-19 play-off, with the first place finisher to advance, Glenmuir blanked Dinthill 5-0 and clipped Cross Keys 3-2 to place first. Cross Keys edged Dinthill 3-2 to place second.

In girls Under-19, with two teams to advance, defending champions Glenmuir drubbed both St Mary High and deCarteret by identical 3-0 scores for first place, while St Mary High blanked deCarteret 3-0 for second place to also advance.

Glenmuir blanked St Mary High 5-0 and stopped Belair 3-1 for first place in boys Under-16 as Belair drubbed St Mary High 5-0 for second place.

The complete list of boys Under-19 finalists is now defending champions Manchester, Belair, St Mary High, Titchfield, Cornwall and Glenmuir.

The Under-19 girls finalists are Cross Keys, Dinthill, Titchfield, Manchester, defending champions Glenmuir and St Mary High.

Boys Uunder-16 finalists are defending champions Titchfield, Dinthill, Manchester, deCarteret, Cornwall and Glenmuir.

Girls under-16 finalists are defending champions Manchester, deCarteret, Titchfield, Dinthill, St Mary High and Cross Keys.

In all categories, the teams will be divided into two groups of three, with round-robin play in each group. Group winners in each category will contest the finals, while teams placing second will play off for the third place trophies.
