MONTEGO BAY, St James — Marl Road and Westgreen FC opened their accounts in the St James Football Association Dennis Barton/Weston King Division One with comfortable wins on Thursday.

Wayon Pinnock scored the season’s first hat-trick to guide Marl Road to a big 4-1 win over Paradise FC at the UDC field, while Westgreen blanked Irwin 3-0 at Westgreen as they joined Mountain Villa on three points at the top of Zone A.

Pinnock struck in the ninth and 21st minutes to give Marl Road an early 2-0 lead, while Kerron Thompson scored a third in the 33rd minute for a big half-time lead.

Ramone Sibbles pulled one back for Paradise in the 55th minute before Pinnock completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute.

At Westgreen, the home team jumped into an early lead when Craig Russell gave them the lead after just three minutes.

Oraine Oliphant doubled the margin in the 22nd minute, before Ariel Taylor added a third in the 52nd minute.
