Links face Spicy Hill in Trelawny Major League
SAMUEL PROSPECT, Trelawny — Prospect Links could extend their lead over Invaders SC to four points in the Trelawny Football Association’s Monymusk White Overproof Rums Major League today when they take on Spicy Hill in a third-round cross-zone game at Samuels Prospect set to start at 3:00 pm.
Prospect Links, the mid-season champions are on 20 points, one more than Invaders who will face Flames in one game tomorrow.
The leaders have won their last three games by 1-0 margins but will be up against a Spicy Hill team four points back and in mid tables.
There are two more games today, Duanvale FC against Jackson Town and Kinloss against Coopers Pen FC.
Classic United, meanwhile, continued their good run in the third round, upsetting Clarks Town 3-1 on Thursday at Blackwin to jump into second place on goal difference ahead of Invaders.
After beating Invaders in the previous round, Classic scored two late goals to hold off Clarks Town who were vying for a share of the lead.
Cornel Brown gave Classic the lead in the 53rd minute, but Dhane Johnson equalised four minutes later.
Wayne Shaw restored Classic’s lead in the71st minute before Omar Hemmings put the game out of reach of Clarks Town in the 84th minute.
At Bunkers Hill Exidos So Fresh edged Granville 3-2 in a five-goal thriller, despite a double from Kanardo Wilson, to move into fourth place on 18 points.
Wilson opened the scoring in the second minute to give Granville the lead, but goals from Rhys Young in the 10th, Husana Johnson in the 18th and Zeko Clarke in the 74th gave Exidos the upper hand.
Granville came back at the end through a second goal from Wilson in the 83rd minute, but dogged defending from Exidos saw them take full points.
