Electrifying performances expected at ‘Westmoreland’s Best in Concert’
SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland — AS the celebrations for Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC’s) 50th anniversary heighten, the Westmoreland parish office will host the fourth staging of ‘Westmoreland’s Best in Concert’ on Saturday at the Sean Lavery Faith Hall, Savanna-la-Mar, starting at 8:00 pm.
In previous stagings, noted personalities have wowed audiences with electrifying performances that showcased raw talent and high entertainment value for the entire family. This year’s event, dubbed ‘a comedy showcase’, will feature some of Westmoreland’s well-known personalities in the public and private sectors.
JCDC Cultural Organiser Coretta Spence is assuring patrons that this year will be even greater.
“Over the years, performers at this event included politician Russell Hammond, Minister Roger Clarke, Senator Marlene Malahoo Forte, along with parish bank managers and other business persons from Westmoreland and neighbouring parishes who are always eager to entertain and give their commitment to the successful staging,” she noted.
This year’s special guest performers will include popular comedic duo Ity and Fancy Cat, and will also feature the Custos of Westmoreland, Reverend Canon Hartley Perrin and Managing Director of Royal Pharmacy Coral Mushette.
Additionally, a special highlight will be a golden girls’ fashion show with women over 50 years parading in dresses, shorts and mini-skirts, depicting the outfits of the 50s era.
