Silver Ferns atop world netball ranking
FORMER World champions New Zealand have taken over the top spot in the International Netball Federation’s (INF) world ranking, while Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls remain fourth according to the latest issue released this month.
The Silver Ferns, who won the World Netball Championships (WNC) in 2007, assumed the top spot ahead of reigning world champs Australia following the latter team’s 3-0 defeat by host England in a tri-test series in January. Australia are second in the world followed by England and Jamaica, with African team Malawi rounding out the top five.
The Sunshine Girls have a chance to boost their ratings points when they face England in a test series in April.
