Mystical Revolution to release album
WINNERS of the 2012 Heineken Inspire Competition, Mystical Revolution, will release their debut album Divide & Rule on March 1.
The official launch takes place that day at the Edna Manley College of the Performing and Visual Arts in St Andrew.
The 12-track set features the songs Gangsta Story with Sizzla Kalonji and Love Me with Queen Ifrica. Other guests include Bunny Rugs and Tarrus Riley.
The self-produced album was recorded at Tuff Gong and Grafton studios.
According to band leader/drummer and vocalist Obrian Williams, Divide & Rule “is an epic experience for the band as we got the opportunity to work with some of reggae’s finest acts. Also the band used this project to let the world know that reggae music is still alive.”
Since winning the Heineken Inspire Competition last year, the six-piece group has performed at shows like the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Tarrus and Friends, and Reggae Infuzion.
In addition to Williams, the group consists Mfonabasi Udosen (bass), Sanjay Barrett (lead vocal), Jermain Williams, (lead guitar), Gawaine Campbell (lead Guitarist) and vocalist Paulos Simpson.
