Prospect Links, Invaders get mixed results
JACKSON TOWN, Trelawny — Mid-season champions Prospect Links and beaten finalists Invaders had mixed results, as the cross-zone round of the Trelawny Football Association Major League got under way on Saturday.
Prospect Links edged Jackson Town 1-0 to take the overall lead in the competition after the two zones that were used for the first two rounds of the competition were combined for the final round, leading to the semi-finals.
The four teams with the best points total, irrespective of zones, will qualify for the semi-finals.
Travis James’ 21st-minute goal for Prospect Links took them to 20 points, one more than Invaders, who were upset 3-0 by Classic United at Bunkers Hill.
Dave Speid scored twice, in the 28th and 54th minutes for Classic, who were second to last in Zone Two before the merger, while Jephetos Whittingham added another in the 81st minute.
In the other game played Saturday, Clarks Town and Exidos played out a 1-1 draw at Cedric Titus High.
Dhane Johnson gave Clarks Town the lead after 27 minutes before Kizar Bulgin equalised in the 69th.
