JGA selection policy under review at Caymanas
The Jamaica Golf Association (JGA) Flights Classic will tee off at the Caymanas Golf & Country Club today.
The tournament is a stroke play event, competed in flights, which will include national representatives Dennis Atkinson, Sean Morris, Keith Stein and Paul Thompson.
A strong junior contingent will be competing over the two days.
The Flights Classic is the penultimate event on the 2011-2012 golfing calendar, which will culminate with the Easter Jamboree at the Runaway Golf Club. A national squad will be named at the end of the tournament season.
Among the items on the JGA’s agenda is the revision of the selection policy for national teams.
Brian Roper of the Sandals Group has been appointed head of the committee which will review the policy and make recommendations geared towards improving the selection process for national golf representatives.
Plans will be unveiled at the Caymanas Golf Club this afternoon following the tournament.
