MoBay U-21s stay on top in Sandals/ATL football
TUCKER, St James — Montego Bay United’s Under-21 team stayed on top of the points tables in Zone B of the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Senior League after beating Reggae Youths 2-0 at Wespow Park on Thursday.
Montego Bay United Under-21’s win was their third of the season and it took them to 10 points, while it extended Reggae Youths’ winless run in the league to three games during which time they have scored just once.
After beating two Super League teams on their way to the final of the Knock-Out and a place in the national knock-out competition, Reggae Youths were expected to make a run at the title in their first season at the Senior League level.
On Thursday, Peter-Lee Vassell scored in the 15th minute and Aldaine Grant in the 37th minute as Montego Bay United Under-21 rebounded from a 0-0 draw against Little Miami in their previous game.
Little Miami, meanwhile, beat winless Revelations 2-1 at the UDC Field and moved into second place in the standings, just ahead of Montego Bay Boys Club on goal difference with both on seven points, three behind Montego Bay United Under-21.
Revelations scored first through Sebastian Robinson in the 60th minute, but Romario Morris levelled the scores in the 73rd before Androcle Poyser hit the winner in the 90th minute.
