St Andrew, Hillel share top honours in school TT
HILLEL and St Andrew High shared the honours in a girls double-header hosted at St Andrew on Monday as the ISSA Table Tennis Competition resumed, after a one-week break.
St Andrew blanked Hillel 3-0 in Under-19 action and Hillel blanked St Andrew 3-0 in Under-16.
St Andrew stretched their lead atop the girls’ Under-19 Group Two with their victory. They moved up to six points, ahead of both Meadowbrook and Hillel on three points apiece. St Andrew and Hillel both have one match remaining to complete their fixtures, while Meadowbrook have two matches left to play.
The top two finishers will progress to the semi-finals.
Hillel moved up to third place in Under-16 Group Two action following their victory, but Immaculate lead with 10 points, followed by Campion on nine, Hillel eight, and both Norman Manley and St Andrew tied on six points each.
St Andrew have two matches left to play with the other four teams each having three matches remaining.
The top-two finishers will advance to the semi-finals.
In individual results in the Under-19 contest, Kimberly Soares and Ayuki Carter both scored easy 3-0 wins over Kei Harris and Britney Grant, respectively, while Jade Demetrius won by default from Ada Cheung for St Andrew’s 3-0 triumph.
In the Under-16 category, Brianna Thompson, Ashley Lowe and Sydney Williams overpowered Amoie Hutchinson, Lindsay Harley and Kourtney-Ann Cole by 3-0 scores to complete Hillel’s 3-0 margin of victory.
