Through the lens of Peter Simon
RESPECTED American photojournalist Peter Simon will mount an exhibition titled Reggae Bloodline Through The Camera Lens at Pulse’s Studio 38 in St Andrew on February 28.
The exhibition runs until the end of March.
Many of the exhibition’s photos are from Reggae Bloodline, the 1977 book Simon produced with journalist Steven Davis.
“Over 100 pictures for sale will be on display,” said Colin Leslie, coordinator of the event.
Simon is the brother of famous pop singer Carly Simon. His father was co-founder of the renowned publishing company, Simon and Schuster.
He and Davis travelled to Jamaica in the early 1970s to cover the country’s growing music scene.
They interviewed several big reggae stars including Bob Marley, Big Youth and Burning Spear, as well as prime minister Michael Manley.
