LIME promises exciting time for Champs 2013
TELECOMMUNICATIONS provider LIME will step up its activities at the ISSA Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championship this year with a slew of new and innovative ideas that will see a grand prize trip to the Carifta Games in The Bahamas.
LIME, which has sponsored the most popular school championship in the world for the last six years to the tune of $60 million, will again be playing their part in making Champs a real spectacle.
Carlo Redwood, LIME’s vice-president of marketing, said this year’s theme is celebrating school spirit, and anyone who has been in Jamaica during this world-class event “can see how seriously we take these championships”.
“Our sponsorship this year will be even more exciting, as we will be delivering more value to our customers through our retail promotions [which include], The Champs Challenge for our Facebook fans and Twitter followers, and our promotions in the stadium during the Championship,” said Redwood.
“We are enthusiastic about our renewed relationship with ISSA, as this will add to our ongoing support for sports development in Jamaica. The event acts as the cradle for track and field locally, and has given birth to a number of world beaters such as Yohan Blake, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, Usain Bolt, and many more,” he pointed out.
“No matter which school you support, this is the time when present and past students wear their colours proudly. As the largest exhibition of secondary school athletics, Champs has given young, talented athletes the opportunity to compete in an arena which showcases their abilities to the world,” Redwood added.
LIME customers will be eligible for daily and weekly prizes during Champs. Persons must purchase a data plan to enter. One entry for every $50.00 spent.
There will be prepaid data packages lasting one day, seven-day or up to 30 days with one-day plans as low as $50.00.
On a daily basis, 100 $100 cards will be given away and sent electronically to handsets, plus 100 $50 data packages. On Saturday, LIME will be giving away 10 Champs tickets plus two school jerseys.
A total of over 7,400 prizes will be given away with a grand prize of a trip for two to the Carifta Games, including hotel accommodation and airfare.
