Violet Kickers hunt second win
TUCKER, St James — Zone A leaders Violet Kickers will go after a second straight win today when they take on Melbourne FC at Westpow Park, as the St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Senior League continues with three games.
Violet Kickers won their opening game, beating Granville City 4-1, while Melbourne, one of the favoured teams, stumbled out of the gates, drawing their first two games, including a drama-filled 4-4 result with Fogo United, who also drew their first two games.
Melbourne FC have not lost a game in the St James Senior League since last season, but drew seven of 10 games last year and failed to get past the preliminary rounds.
The impressive Reggae Youths who qualified for the Jamaica Football Federation Flow Champions Cup, set to start late next month, will take on Rosemount Gardens at the Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College after being held 0-0 by Montego Bay Boys Club last week.
Reggae Youths beat two Western Confederation Super League teams on their way to the St James Knock-out final, while beating Boys Club in their opening Senior League game before being held by Boys Club.
Rosemount Gardens are coming off a 3-0 beating from Little Miami on Friday.
Meanwhile, Boys Club will face Revelations at the UDC field as they seek their first win.
