‘Striker’ Lee relaunches studio
A full house turned out for the relaunch of music producer Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee’s studio in Duhaney Park on January 29. It also marked the official opening of the Gorgon Entertainment Group, headed by his son Edward Lee Jnr.
The entertainment industry was strongly represented, with several of the musicians and artistes who worked with Lee senior, in attendance. Among them singer Johnny Clarke, musician Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith and The Mighty Diamonds.
Clarke is one of the artistes who have already recorded for the Gorgon Entertainment Group which main aim is to break roots-reggae acts. The facility also has a museum with memorabilia which once belonged to pioneer reggae personalities including dub legend Osbourne ‘King Tubby’ Ruddock, singers Delroy Wilson and Slim Smith.
“It’s a great feeling to preserve the history of the music and let the young people know where the music is coming from,” said Lee Jnr.
