Elephant Man’s second coming?
IT was 10 years ago that Elephant Man rode a wave of success in the United States, courtesy of songs like Pon Di River Pon Di Bank and Signal Di Plane.
The flamboyant deejay is on the comeback trail with Gal Waa More featuring Barbadian pop singer Shontelle.
The song is produced by Cyclone Music Group.
Shontelle is best known for the hits T Shirt, Impossible and Stuck With Each Other featuring Akon.
In a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer, Elephant Man (real name Oneil Bryan) spoke about his promotional plans.
“The song was actually recorded by me alone and the producers decided that they wanted to bring Shontelle on the track.
So that’s how the collaboration came about.
Next week we will be doing the video in Miami to capitalise on the mainstream play that the song has been getting,” Elephant Man explained.
For the video, Elephant Man will team up with top American director Gil Green who called the shots on his previous visuals for Jook Gal, Five O, Whine Up (with Kat Deluna), and Pon Di River Pon Di Bank.
Although the crossover hits dried up for Elephant Man four years ago, he says he has been busy recording songs for hot producers like Markus Myrie and Steven McGregor.
“Right now, is non-stop work,” said the chunky entertainer.
To date, Elephant Man has notched five titles on Billboard’s Reggae Album chart.
Let’s Get Physical for rap mogul P Diddy’s Bad Boy label is his only chart-topper.
That set featured production from Diddy as well as guest appearances from Wyclef Jean and Chris Brown.
