Sagicor/Sigma Corporate Run hits record-breaking registration mark
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sagicor, organisers of the annual Sigma Corporate Run announced Friday morning that registrations have far surpassed the 16,000 mark of the 2012 Run.
Donovan Perkins, President and CEO of Sagicor Investments believes response to the February 17th 5K Run will increase before registration closes this Friday evening.
“Jamaicans have always been passionate about the causes the run supports. We are happy with the continued partnerships and are encouraging everyone to take part in our effort to make a positive change in the lives of our nation’s children,” said Perkins.
The 2013 beneficiaries, Bustamante Hospital for Children, Jamaica National Children’s Home and the Best Care Lodge will receive all the proceeds earned to better cater to the needs of wards of the state and child health care.
Since 1999, the over $100 million raised by the 5K road race has purchased equipment for charities such as Sophie’s Place & Mustard Seed Communities; The University Hospital Labour Ward; Jamaica AIDS Support for Life; The Renal Units of the Cornwall Regional, University Hospital and Kingston Public Hospitals; Victoria Jubilee Hospital Neo Natal Care Unit among others.
