Water supply in sections of St Catherine cut until Monday
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) has reported that the Guy’s Hill Treatment Plant in St Catherine remains out of service due to mechanical problems.
The company is advising customers served by this facility that their water supply will be disrupted until Monday, February 4. This prolonged disruption is as a result of the extensive repair works being undertaken at the plant, the NWC said.
Areas affected include: Race Course, Jeffry Town, Decoy, Ragsville, Moreland, Redwood, Middlesex, Guys Hill, Windsor Castle, Barnett, Benbow and Bonnett.
The NWC said that customers will be supplied with trucked water for the duration of the disruption.
In addition, customers in sections of St Andrew served by the Forest Hills deep well are being advised that the low water pressure they are experiencing is a result of mechanical problems at the well site.
Affected areas include: Rock Pond, Red Hills, Brentwood, Leas Flat, Belvedere, Mosquito Valley, Sterling Castle, Forest Hills, Perkins Boulevard, Meadowbrook Estate, Leas Flats, Sterling Castle Heights, East Kirkland Heights and Burnside Valley.
