Invaders extend lead in Trelawny Major League
CLARKS TOWN, Trelawny — Invaders SC extended their lead in Zone One of the Trelawny Football Association National Rums of Jamaica Major League after a 3-1 win over Clarks Town at the Cedric Titus grounds on Sunday afternoon.
The former champions chalked up their league-leading fourth win to move to 15 points from eight games, three more than Clarks Town and Spicy Hill.
Jevaughn Clarke scored in the 38th minute to give Invaders the lead at half time before Alex Dixon, in the 59th minute, and Sheldon Bryan, in the 66th, put them in firm control.
Duval Cole scored in the 74th minute to pull one back for the home team who were losing their second game of the season, both to Invaders.
Jackson Town moved off the bottom of the table, leap-frogging Granville and Coopers Pen into fourth place after edging Granville 1-0 at the Carter Centre through an Oraine Fearon goal in the 55th minute.
In Duncans, Flames and Prospect Links played out a 0-0 draw in their Zone Two game.
