Classic move into joint leadership in Trelawny
BLACKWIN, Trelawny — Classic United avenged a first-round loss to Exidos So Fresh on Saturday to move into joint lead in Zone Two of the Trelawny Football Association’s National Rums of Jamaica Major League.
After losing 1-0 in the first round, Omar Hemmings scored an added time winner for Classic in a 2-1 win at Blackwin to join Prospect Links on 12 points, but with a slightly inferior goal difference.
The loss kept Exidos in third place on 11 points.
Clayton Brown gave Classic the lead in the first minute, but Oshane Hunter equalised in the 54th minute.
The game appeared headed for a draw before Hemmings scored in time added on at the end of the game.
Also in Zone Two, Duanvale FC moved off the bottom of the tables to fourth place on 10 points with a 3-0 spanking of Kinloss FC.
Dinval Wallace in the third minute, Oraine Lewis in the 20th minute and Gavin Blake in the 54th minute scored for Duanvale, who were scoring their third win of the season.
In another game, Damin Williams scored a 90th minute equaliser for Spicy Hill to earn a 3-3 draw against Coopers Pen in Zone One.
Spicy Hill went ahead through Williams’ first goal in the 30th minute, but Cooper’s Pen took the lead with goals from Christopher Noble in the 56th and Leon Coffie in the 72nd.
Three goals came in a hectic final eight minutes of the game as former national striker Fabian Dawkins levelled for Spicy Hill in the 82nd minute, Jeffrey Johnson handed back the lead to Coopers Pen in the 86th minute before Williams got the final goal of the game in the 90th minute.
