Granville hunt berth in St James KO final
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The finalists in the St James FA Captain’s Bakery Knock-out will be known this afternoon following the playing of the semi-finals at Jarrett Park.
Granville United, who have defied poor form in the Western Confederation Super League to advance to the last four, will face Sandals/ATL Senior League team Reggae Youths in the first game at 3:00 pm, followed by Montego Bay United vs. Melbourne FC, starting at 5:00.
There could be a bonus space in the all-island Champions Cup KO if Montego Bay United advance. With Premier League clubs sure of a spot in the all-island, the next best team will also earn a berth.
While Montego Bay united are expected to win and advance, however, the match up between Granville and Reggae Youths could be interesting.
Reggae Youths, who were promoted to the Senior League this season after winning the Division One last season, will be gunning for their second straight Super League scalp after eliminating Norwood Strikers on penalty kicks in the previous round.
Granville, however, have been showing some life after a dreadful start in the Super League and KOed Catherine Hall in last weekend’s quarterfinals.
