Shortwood look to maintain unbeaten run
KSAFA Super League leaders Shortwood will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the competition when they take on Police National in the fourth round of matches at Shortwood this afternoon at 3:30 pm.
In other games, Santos entertain Rae Town at Bell/Chung Oval, Olympic Gardens play Barbican at Cling Cling Oval and Allman/Woodford go up against Mountain View at Alpha school, also at 3:30 pm.
In late games at Constant Spring, Greenwich Town meet UWI at 5:30 pm and August Town play Rockfort at 8:30.
After three rounds of games, Shortwood with seven points, lead the standings by one point ahead of August Town, UWI and Allman/Woodford, although August Town have played one game less.
Rae Town and Barbican come next with four points followed by Rockfort and Police with three.
Shortwood, who have high hopes of reaching the Premier League this season, started the campaign with a draw against Barbican, but have taken the scalps of Rockfort, and one of the title favourites Rae Town since then.
Meanwhile, August Town will be aiming to continue their perfect start to the season and should fancy their chance against Rockfort.
Rae Town will also look to rebound after their surprise defeat to Shortwood and they will be positive of three points against a Santos team with just one point from two starts.
Barbican, who are also undefeated after two matches, will be confident of maintaining their good run against a Olympic Gardens side that have taken just one point from their three games.
Allman/Woodford have also made a good start to the competition with two wins from three games, but they will have a tough test against Mountain View who have two draws from their three outings.
In the Hi-Lyte/Major League, only two matches will be played today, with the other four games have been pushed back to tomorrow.
In today’s fixtures, Duhaney Park host Brown’s Town at Baldwin Crescent and Meadforest play Real Mona at Queensborough.
On Sunday, Bull Bay take on Constant Spring, Maxfield go up against Pembroke Hall at Norman Manley, New Kingston play Molynes at Molynes field and Swallowfield meet Cooreville at Stadium East. All games are due to start at 3:00 pm.
Brown’s Town lead Zone A with 17 points after eight matches, Real Mona follow with 16 and Constant Spring with 15. Molynes are next with 10 points, then Cooreville with eight and Pembroke Hall are at the bottom with five.
Maxfield sit atop Zone B with 19 points from eight games and they are closely followed by Bull Bay with 18 points, Duhaney Park come next with 11 and New Kingston with 10.
Meadforest are on five and Swallowfield are at the foot of the standings with three points.
