Drake’s four-timer halts Bacca Stars skid
FALMOUTH, Trelawny — Karlton Drake scored four times as Bacca Stars snapped their three-game losing skid and blanked Rio Bueno, 5-0, at Elliston Wakeland in the return round of the Trelawny/National Rums Division One.
Drake, who took over the lead in the goalscoring tables with five, scored twice in the first half to give his team a 2-0 lead at the break and shot up to second in Zone Two with nine points, one behind Lorrimers, who have played a game less.
Bacca Stars, the former Trelawny champions and National A-League campaigners that returned to competitive football this season, got off to a great start when Drake scored in the opening minute, then added a second in the 35th.
Randy McDonald made it 3-0 in the 52nd, before Drake completed his hat-trick in the 77th and added a fourth in the 81st.
At Wakefield, All-Stars Sports and Youth Club beat Friendship FC, 5-2, in a Zone One game after blanking them 4-0 in the first round.
Five players scored for All-Stars, while Thomas Grant bagged two for Friendship to take his tally to four goals in two games.
Marvel Clayton opened the scoring in the 10th when he gave All-Stars the lead, while Jamari Galloway added a second in the 15th and Omar Haughton made it 3-0 in the 28th.
Grant pulled one back for Friendship in the 40th, but Decoy Palmer restored All-Stars’ three goals lead in the 49th. Grant completed his brace in the 60th before Nicholi Galloway scored in the 88th.
