Round Hill, Black Stars win in St Bess Major League
ROUND Hill United continued to shine in the St Elizabeth Wray Nephew Major League by beating Tafari Lions, 2-0, at Lacovia Community Centre last Saturday.
The goalscorers were Marlon Miller and Tafari Powell in the 29th and 41st minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the game between Black Stars FC and Holland PYC played at the former emerged 3-1 winners. Ricardo Reid grabbed a double for Black Stars in the 22nd and 38th, while Damair Powell scored in the 54th. Jermaine Seaton netted for Holland PYC in the 70th.
In other games played Sunday at Mountainside, Newell FC edged Mountainside FC, 3-2 with Okar Barnes (third minute), Delo-Jay Linton (10th and 80th) scoring for Newell.
Christopher Linton (25th and 40th) got a double for Mountainside FC.
Parottee claimed three points as well after having the better of Young Brazil, 4-2, at the venue. Marvin Wright (18th and 76th) notched a brace for Parotee, who were further boosted by goals from Shamario Mullings and Courtney Braham in the 47th and 80th, respectively.
Young Brazil’s goals came from Joseph Higgins in the 50th and Clyde Grant in the 67th.
The competition continues on Saturday with Newell vs Round Hill United at Hounslow at 1:30 pm and Parotee FC vs Black Star at Parotee at 3:30.
There will be a double-header at New Holland on Sunday, starting at 1:30 pm with Middle Quarters vs Mountainside and in the feature game at 3:30, Holland PYC vs Tafari Lions.
