Man charged in Duncans shooting death
DUNCANS, Trelawny — One man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of Xavier Lewis, who was killed during a daring daylight attack a few metres from the Duncans Police Station last week.
However, the police have withheld the identity of the man.
“The man is expected to be taken to court soon, although a date is not yet confirmed,” Commander in charge of the Trelawny Police Division, Senior Superintendent Noel Christie told the Jamaica Observer.
Lewis’ killing followed on the heels of the death of eight-year-old Imani Green, a British national who was shot and killed at a shop in Duncans.
Police said the incidents, which they believe are connected, are being thoroughly investigated. A strong police presence is being maintained in the community.
