Scotiabank cop 11 awards at Inter-Bank Presentation
SCOTIABANK Group received 11 awards at the 2012 Western Sports-sponsored Norman Goodison Inter-Bank Football presentation ceremony, which was held on Wednesday at the Bank of Jamaica, Nethersole Place.
They won the Dress Parade, The Bankers’ Association trophy for the One-Day Five-A-Side Rally, with Richard West receiving the MVP award and Anthony Greenland’s six goals winning the leading goalscorer award.
They also retained the coveted Norman Goodison Inter-Bank league trophy after defeating Bank of Jamaica 5-2 in the final on November 25, and the leading goalscorer was Jamoy Sibblies with 15 goals. He also won the MVP award.
Damion Crooks was the best goalkeeper; Coach Neville ‘Bertis’ Bell won the Coach of the Year award, and Diana Polack won her sixth Manager of the Year award.
Bank of Jamaica were runners-up in league competition. Scotiabank Group also won the most disciplined team, having received just three yellow cards for the season. President Livingstone Morrison thanked the media, Western Sports and especially Carl Chang, head of Western Sports for his continued support to football in Jamaica. Chang was presented with a trophy from the Inter-Bank Football Association. Guest speaker, Myrtle Halsall, Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, spoke about the importance of sports and wellness at the workplace and encouraged the participants to do their best whenever they are representing their companies.
Awards were given to the final referees Everton, Barrett, Walworth Duncan and Rolonzo Bennett. All individual awardees and referees were presented with gift vouchers from Western Sports Limited and The Adidas Store valued at $5,000.
