Racing lead LIME Portmore Div 2 football League
RACING United leads the LIME Portmore Division Two Football League with nine points after defeating Silverstone, 3-0, last Sunday at Racing field in Gregory Park. Netting for the leaders were Kareem Barrett in the 36th and 55th minutes, while Paul Walker scored in the 87th.
In the game played earlier at the same venue between Braeton United and Bridgeport, it was Nicholas Tucker’s lone goal in the 67th minute that edged out Braeton, thus allowing Bridgeport to walk away with all three points.
Meanwhile, at the Greater Portmore High School, East Portmore Portals drew 0-0 with Garveymeade, while Greater Portmore outplayed Cumberland, 2-0.
Scoring for Greater Portmore was David Whittingham in the 49th and 90th minutes.
In the point standings, Bridgeport are trailing Racing with seven points, followed closely by Greater Portmore, who have six points. Next are East Portmore Portals on four, Cumberland and Garveymeade on two points each and Braeton and Silverstone on one point apiece.
On Sunday at 1:00 pm Cumberland FC meet Garveymeade FC at the Cumberland ground and at 3:00 pm Silverstone FC take on Bridgeport FC at the same venue.
At Greater Portmore High School, Braeton United FC face Racing United FC at 1:00 pm, while at 3:00 pm at the venue, Greater Portmore FC host East Portmore Portals.
