Roach in Big Bash final after Heat win
MELBOURNE, Australia (CMC) — West Indies pacer Kemar Roach proved ineffective, but his Brisbane Heat still stormed into the final of the Australian Big Bash with a convincing 15-run win over Melbourne Renegades on Tuesday night.
The right-armer finished with none for 31 from his four overs as the Renegades, chasing 184 for victory, faltered at 168 for nine at Docklands Stadium
Earlier, opener Luke Pomersbach pummelled an unbeaten 112 to help fire the Heat to a challenging 183 for three off their 20 overs, after winning the toss and batting.
Roach’s Heat will now face Perth Scorchers in Saturday’s final after the hosts beat Melbourne Stars at the WACA on Wednesday.
The Barbadian right-armer was on Tuesday named in a West Indies 15-man squad for a short limited overs tour of Australia starting later this month.
