Bolt, Fraser-Pryce win Golden Cleats Awards
USAIN Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) 2012 Golden Cleats Awards today, as expected.
Glen Mills, who trains Bolt and several other world-class athletes, was named Coach of the Year.
Bolt and Fraser-Pryce took the male and female athletes of the year awards, which surprised no one after their stellar performances last year, culminating with wins at the London Olympic Games.
Bolt repeated his triple gold medal haul from Beijing, winning the 100m, 200m and sprint relay, which broke the world record again, while Fraser-Pryce retained her 100m crown and nabbed silver medals in the 200m and sprint relay.
Mills, who heads the Racers Track Club, took the coaching award after outstanding performances by his charges, Bolt, Yohan Blake and Warren Weir, who swept the 200m in London. Blake also claimed silver in the 200m and was part of the record-breaking sprint relay team.
