Usain Bolt among top Internet searches in 2012
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt is among the most “searched for” on Google, according to a trending search result published in thesun.co.uk.
Bolt along with Whitney Houston and Rio were in the top searches by Internet users for the year 2012.
EURO 2012 beat out the Olympic ticket sales, while Whitney Houston’s death amassed a number of hits in the UK even more than hometown girl Kate Middleton.
According to the report, Rio — home to the 2016 Olympics and a host city for the 2014 football World Cup — edged out Greece as the most searched-for destination.
Google’s UK results are split into trending searches and most searched.
Trends show the queries that increased the most in 2012. Most searched throws up popular results each year. Sprint ace Bolt was the most searched-for non-UK Olympian.
