Spot Valley, William Knibb score wins
SPOT VALLEY, St James — Spot Valley High’s Under-16 team and William Knibb’s Under-19 team scored wins last Thursday afternoon to help their causes in the ISSA/KFC Western Conference schools basketball competition.
Spot Valley beat hapless William Knibb 93-7 in the Under-16 game to join leaders Muschett High on 12 points, but have completed their schedule of eight games.
William Knibb returned the favour in the Under-19 game, winning 74-22 to join defending champions Cornwall College on 13 points and in second place behind Muschett, 14.
In the junior game, Jhamanique Brown scored 39 points and Delton Clarke had 30, as Spot Valley spanked the Trelawny school by 86 points, the largest margin of victory in any game this season.
Spot Valley had little answer to William Knibb in the senior game, as the Trelawny school led 25-5, 42-12 and 57-18 at the intervals.
Shavaughn Reid scored 44 points for William Knibb, while Stephan Greaves scored 17. Nickedo Campbell was the topscorer for Spot Valley with
10 points.
