It’s not feeling a lot like Christmas
The neighbours are asking why she waited so long before packing up and moving out. His abuse only got worse with time. But she insisted she had to stay for her kids’ sake. Now with Christmas approaching, she has decided enough is enough. We women are just too long-suffering.
A winning attitude
We noticed that The Gleaner didn’t win the top prize in the Observer Business Leader Awards. But to have been nominated at all shows a winning attitude on the part of two worthy rival newspapers. Word is that Gleaner MD Christopher Barnes led his team proudly at the event.
…and speaking of winning
Heartiest congratulations are due to the Business Leader winners — GraceKennedy and the Hendrickson Group of companies. I worked for both groups at different times and found Mr Douglas Orane and Mr Karl Hendrickson very gracious men. It’s hard to imagine what Jamaica would have done without these two giants. They won from an awesome group of companies. It was a miracle the Observer people were able to separate two out of that formidable 15!

Fighting over ‘ded lef’
