Boyz to know CONCACAF final round schedule today
CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb; General Secretary Enrique Sanz and FIFA Head of Olympic and World Cup Qualifying Gordon Savic will hold the draw for the CONCACAF Hexagonal fourth and final qualifying round for the 2014 FIFA World Cup today in Florida.
The draw, which will determine the schedule for the final qualifying round, will take place at 8:00 pm EST at The W South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. The event will be live-streamed at www.CONCACAF.com.
Six countries have advanced to the CONCACAF Hexagonal: Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, and the United States. These teams represent the top two finishers from each of the three groups in the third round of World Cup qualifiers.
Representatives from all six countries will be on hand to attend the draw and discuss the results
with media.
In the Hexagonal, each team will play every other team twice — once at home, once away — for a total
of 10 matches per team, and 30 matches total.
The CONCACAF draw will determine the schedule of play to occur between February and October, 2013. The top three teams from the Hexagonal will qualify directly to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The fourth-placed team will have to play an inter-confederation two-game play-off series against the Oceania Football Confederation’s first-placed team to determine the national association that qualifies to the World Cup Finals.
The final draw for the 2014 World Cup Brazil will take place on December 6, 2013, in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
