Scotia, NCB, JNBS score Inter-Bank wins
DEFENDING champions Scotiabank Group kicked off the 2012 JNBS/Western Sports-sponsored Norman Goodison Inter-Bank football competition last Sunday with an emphatic 7-1 victory over Pan Caribben/Sagicor at Mona.
Anthony Greenland scored a hat-trick in ther 14th, 16th and 55th minutes, while Jermaine Gardener get a double in the 33rd and 69th.
Jamoy Sibblies (29th) and Richardo Lall (15th) scored the other goals. Marvin Mclean got the consolation for Pan Caribbean/Sagicor in the 59th. In the feature match at the venue, CIBC/FCIB clipped the returning JMMB, 2-1, with Javan Kingloc getting a brace in the 59th and 70th, and Kareem Roberts scoring in the 73rd for JMMB.
At the NWC field, last year’s beaten finalists and 2012 Division 2 KSAFA Business House champions National Commercial Bank (NCB) sent a strong message to Scotiabank by easily defeating Bank Of Jamaica (BoJ), 3-0, with George Clarke (20th ), Delon Dixon (40th) and Dwayne Salmon (89th) scoring.
Former champions JNBS stopped RBC Royal Bank, 2-0, with former goalkeeper Richard Forrest scoring a brace in the seventh and 21st.
The league for the Norman Goodison Trophy will continue on Sunday with RBC Royal Bank vs NCB at 2:00 pm and Scotiabank meeting JMMB at NWC field at 4:00 pm. BOJ will play JNBS at 3:00 pm at the Old Men’s Hockey Field.
