“Duppy Bat”, “Red Head” surrender to police
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The two men listed by the St Andrew North Police Division as persons of interest in the murder on Sunday of retired Senior Superintendent of Police Anthony ‘Tony’ Hewitt have turned themselves in.
Jermaine ‘Duppy Bat’ Smith and Richard ‘Red Head’ Francis were accompanied to the Constant Spring Police Station a short while ago by their attorney Chris Tavares-Finson.
The men are currently in the custody of the police.
Tavares-Finson told the Jamaica Observer that he is now waiting to hear from the police the next step in the process.
“We are prepared to co-operate fully with the police,” the lawyer said.
Both men are said by the police to reside at Donmair Avenue addresses in Kingston 19.
A third man, Jomo McLeod, also turned himself in to the police after being told that he was wanted for questioning.
