Counting Down To FNO With Jerell Scott
Jerell Scott, one of LA’s rising fashion designers, will be in Kingston, Jamaica when Jamaica Observer celebrates Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday, September 6. Scott, who made us all sit up and take note of his design skills on the hit TV show Project Runway where he was a finalist, also holds the record for most challenges won of his season.
Ahead of his arrival SO gets up close and, at times, personal…
I got into sewing when…
I couldn’t afford the clothes that really moved me as a young model living in New York.
My favourite outfit is…
any look that is comfortable, eclectic and stylish usually does it for me.
I feel sexiest when…
I wake up every day.
Clothes must…
enhance the attributes of the wearer.
Spots are hot this season and…
so is confidence.
The woman who wears my clothes is…
bohemian, confident, and usually the centre of attention without even trying.
I reckon I won the most times on Project Runway because…
I was true to who I am as a person and a designer.
Design for me is…
my passion, and my purpose.
My current focus is…
work! I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love for a living. And I make it my goal to put as much of myself and attention into every project I take on.
Jamaica FNO 2012… I’m coming because…
I’ve always wanted to see Jamaica. My work is very inspired by the world and how different people live and express themselves through fashion and art.
Scott’s clients include:
