Russia’s Antyukh takes 400m hurdles title, Spencer fourth.
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Kaliese Spencer, in lane 8, finished fourth and out of the medals as Russian Natalya Antyukh won the 400m hurdles final in 53.33 seconds.
An obviously distraught Lashanda Demus, the reigning world champion, took the silver.
Zuzana Hejnova of the Czech Republic was third in 53.38.
Spencer was Jamaica’s only entrant in the finals after Olympic champion Melaine Walker was eliminated in the semi finals.
