Kenia Sinclair withdraws from 800m with several injuries
LONDON, England – Jamaica’s Kenia Sinclair was a last minute scratch from the women’s 800m heats on this morning’s schedule at the XXX Olympiad in London.
Technical Leader Don Quarrie told the Jamaica Observer the decision was made during warm ups as she felt she was unable to give a good account of herself and did not want to risk aggravating the situation any further.
“Yes she is very disappointed” Quarrie said, adding she was cutting her season short to get medical help.
Sinclair told the Jamaica Observer on Monday that she had been suffering from a bulging disc in her back and problems with lumbar (lower back) among other niggles.
