Women’s 200m lane assignments and preview
The final of the women’s 200m is set to run off at 3:00pm tomorrow.
Two Jamaicans will take on the combined American threat of Allyson Felix, Sanya Richards-Ross and Carmelita Jeter.
Reigning champion Veronica Campbell-Brown will be hard-pressed to maintain the title that she’s won at the last two Olympic Games. Campbell-Brown will run out of lane 5 between Richards-Ross and compatriot Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
Fraser-Pryce ran 22.34 to ease into the final and seems a likely contender for a medal.
It won’t be easy though as the three America trio, led by Felix, will be gunning to reclaim the 200m Olympic crown they lost when Campbell Brown won in Athens, 2004 then again in Beijing four years ago.
