The track is fast, anything is possible says Blake
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Yohan Blake’s silver in the 100 has given him a confidence boost as he challenges for the Olympic 200m title.
“My plan is just to execute. I’m going great, I’ve already got a silver medal,” the Jamaica National Champion commented after winning his 200m heats this morning.
Blake, the second fastest 200m runner of all time credited his coach Glen Mills for his preparation.
“I give big credit to my coach. The 100m taught me a lot and it’s given me confidence. I love this event,” he said of the 200m.
“I did what my coach said and qualified”.
Blake insisted that his emphasis is not whether or not he can beat Usain Bolt over the 200m in London.
“I’m not really focusing on beating him. I’m concentrating on running my race,” he said.
“I’m feeling good, that’s why they call me the beast. The track is fast. I appreciate anything is possible.”
