Black, green and gold frenzy
Jamaicans have responded to the call to turn the island into a sea of black, green and gold, and it is beautiful. Only the most uncurious visitor would not be aware that we are a nation in celebration. If we are lucky, this will become a trend for all other Independence celebrations.
Feeling the 50
At long last the Jamaica 50 fever has caught on and the celebratory feeling is spreading far and wide. People, however, question whether it’s coming from the spirit of the Jamaican people coupled with the yearning for festivities or the long-awaited plan that’s falling into place just in the nick of time. Most say it’s the former, but some prefer to wait till it’s done and see who will emerge as the givers and takers of the credit.
Hunger for a better feed…
It’s being said that the station is getting a whole lot of heat for the lacklustre feed. Word is for 2016, no matter what station, it could be the same feed all over again.
Sentiment for Asafa
Jamaicans are in a quandary over their support for Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell. Everyone loves Bolt’s showmanship and star power, which are winning friends and influencing people, to the great benefit of Jamaica. Everyone also loves Asafa for his humility and for being there for us when the men had fallen off in world athletics. And now it’s possibly his last Olympics.
On the loose… again
Talk is, the unsung concubine knows no bounds when it comes to doing the rounds. They say she’s been here, there and everywhere — behind the scenes, of course — and now she’s craving more. Seems she’s circling back and this time she’s playing for keeps.
More please, madam
