Simpson Miller attends ceremonial raising of Jamaican flag
LONDON, UK — Jamaica’s Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller attended the ceremonial raising of the Jamaican flag in the international zone of the Athletes’ Village in Stratford today.
She was accompanied by Jamaica Olympic Association president Mike Fennell and Chef de Mission of the Jamaican team, Don Anderson, at the brief but colourful ceremony that lasted just over half hour.
The Jamaican track and field team arrived in London today from Birmingham where they hosted at a pre-Olympic training camp.
The Olympic Games will officially get underway Friday night but events, including football, have already started.
