Tarmoh’s family reunion
US runner will meet her brother for the first time at Olympics
London, England — ON Friday in London, US sprinter Jeneba Tarmoh will meet her half brother for the first time. It’s been in the works since she made the US Olympic team as a member of the relay pool.
Tarmoh says her brother John Mannah was born in Sierra Leone and moved to London with his father when he was eight years old. Her mother ended up relocating to San Jose, California, where Tarmoh grew up.
Although she’s never met him, Tarmoh has talked to her sibling on the phone. He’s 15 years older than her.
Her plan: to catch up over dinner at his house.
“It’s going to be great running and meeting my brother for the first time, having my nieces and nephews watch me in my element,” says Tarmoh
