No security fears for Jamaicans
BIRMINGHAM, England — Jamaican athletes are not concerned about security threats around the Olympics according to team captains Michael Frater and Novlene Williams-Mills.
In a press conference at today’s media day, the question of security threat came up but Frater said athletes were not overly concerned.
“I don’t think we have much concerns,” the male team captain said.
“We just follow the recommendations of the managers, everything has been good with us so far, everything is secure and we are just here to worry about what we have to do on the track and not worry about security.”
Williams-Mills said that the managers of the Jamaican team had done a good job in ensuring the athletes were comfortable “so we have had no problems.”
