PEPPER POT: Fishing and scamming in MoBay
Word is that fishy business and scamming in MoBay are closely allied. In both cases it’s the bottom line that counts, according to those in the know.
Guilty until proven innocent?
People say there’s no greater disgrace than a highly placed public official getting busted for allegedly participating in the biggest scam of the decade. But it’s only allegation so far, yet a guilty verdict has been passed by even eminent persons. Seems the new game in town is guilty until proven innocent.
Untouchable?
Just when things seemed somewhat dull, word is that certain investigators may be getting ready for another round of exposés from their Olint files. This could include those who’re out and about as well as some who’re out of touch.
On the wrong account
Seems there’s been such a spike in transfers, side agreements and names changed on accounts that people wonder whether it is for FATCA fear or frenzy.
The damage of the scam
Jamaican in London: I can’t believe that guy just tried to scam me by saying I’m a lucky guy and then asking me for money.
Stranger: Hey man, I’m from Italy so I know a scam when I see it. Where are you from?
Jamaican in London: I’m from Jamaica.
Stranger: Oh man, then you should know the scams better than me!
We’re glad that the foolish debate about who is better — Usain Bolt or Yohan Blake, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce or Veronica Campbell-Brown — has been turned down. It’s Jamaica all the way in London.
Time will tell
Question of the week: If there’s cholera to the North and cholera to the East, then how safe are those to the South and West?
