Media still in the cold about access to Jamaican Olympic team
BIRMINGHAM, England — Up to mid day British time, members of the media were still awaiting word from the JAAA officials about a promised meeting to iron out requests for access to the Jamaicans in Birmingham.
For the past three days Jamaican media members have been barred from any contact with the athletes or officials and information has been sketchy in parts.
It is understood that a number of top sprinters have yet to report to the camp that started on Monday. Some have been competing in meets around Europe while there are no reports of activity from others.
A number of athletes including double Olympic 200m champion Veronica Campbell Brown and IAAF World champion Yohan Blake and 200m runner warren Weir competed at a meet in Switzerland on Tuesday before reporting to camp.
