Ashmeade wins Monaco 200m

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican sprinter Nickel Ashmeade won the 200m at the Samsung Diamond League meet in Monaco today.

Ashmeade ran 20.02 to defeat Dutchman Churandy Martina (20.07) and American Wallace Spearmon (20.36).

Another Jamaican, Marvin Anderson finished fifth.

Ashmeade finished fourth at the Jamaican trials and missed out representing the island at the London Olympics.
