China Harbour contributes to Olympic team
Regional Director for the Americas (the Caribbean and Latin America) at China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) Zhongdong Tang (centre) presents a cheque for US$20,000 to Mike Fennell, President of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) towards the preparation of Jamaica’s team for the London 2012 Olympics. Looking on is Compton Rodney, Honorary Treasurer of the JOA. The presentation took place at the JOA’s Cunningham Avenue offices in Kingston on Monday. Tang said the donation was an expression of the high regard that the company and the people of China have for Jamaica’s athletes. He said Jamaica’s Olympic team had the full support and encouragement of CHEC, which was happy to be able to make a contribution to the development of sports in Jamaica and hopefully, to the continuation of the country’s tradition of producing and nurturing many world-class athletes.
