INDECOM hands over updated Keith Clarke file to DPP
THE Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is reporting that additional information gathered on the fatal shooting of businessman Keith Clarke, has been handed over to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn, had last week reported that a ruling on Clarke’s killing had been delayed because certain important facts surrounding the case had not been furnished by INDECOM.
But the Commission has reported that additional information had been handed over to the ODPP last Thursday.
“The Independent Commission of Investigations, pursuant to Section 17 (3)(a) of the INDECOM ACT 2010, wishes to advise that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) received further information concerning the fatal shooting of Keith Clarke that was requested of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. INDECOM received and sent the information to the ODPP on Thursday,” a release from INDECOM said.
Clarke was killed at his Kirkland Heights home in St Andrew by agents of the state during a hunt for extradited former Tivoli Gardens strongman, Christopher Dudus Coke, who is due to be sentenced in a Manhattan Court for racketeering.
