Pepper pot: A makeover for him, not her
Word is the one who was tossed aside and forsaken for greener pastures is now looking as fit as a fiddle, having been nipped, tucked and lifted. Oh, and that’s him, not her.
E-mail rumpus and brand Jamaica
The e-mail rumpus continues. The threat of lawsuit has triggered all sorts of woes, especially after evidence is emerging that brand Jamaica has been hit hard by the dirty mails really meant to hurt the Sandals hotels and a few politicians. Some travel agents are saying what kind of people are these and asking whether they should send their clients to the island. Worse, some of the people said to be involved are supposed to be promoting the island, not harming it.
How ghetto!
They say it is quite acceptable to make oneself available, at anytime, for introductions and opportunities but virtually moving into the host’s crib is a completely different level of protocol.
Visitors please leave, vendors welcome
Thanks to the Pepperpot reader who shared her experience at that hospital maternity ward. A woman had her baby and was on the maternity ward. Visiting hours ended and the nurses unceremoniously chased her husband off the ward because “visiting hours are over!” Within five minutes of the husband’s departure, she was about to breastfeed her child when her curtain was drawn by a man offering to take her picture with the baby to make key rings. After he left, a woman appeared in like manner offering to sell her brassieres. In total, five vendors invaded her privacy!!
Where’s the green?
Could the missing green from the black, green and gold be the result of a budget cut, storm in a teacup or just plain bad luck? Then there’s Mayor Harris and his foot-in-mouth disease. What a prekeh!
Choosing battles
Opposition Leader Andrew Holness needs to save his firepower for when he most needs it. Trying to defend the boycott of the KSAC swearing-in is the kind of battle one should choose not to fight. It can’t be won.
Northern hospitality
People are saying that whilst they’re pleased with the level of service at some north coast villas, it’s the openness and availability of additional personal courtesies that have left them dumbstruck.
Getting ready?
Talk is, lawyers are being retained as if some are expecting suits to drop as soon as the other shoe drops. Get it?
Committed to committees
Question of the week: Are we back to the good old days of forming committees for this, that and t’other?
